Description

These voyages revealed the celebrated, controversial Columbus's uncanny sense of the sea, his mingled brilliance and delusion and his superb navigational skills. Bergreen’s Marco Polo: From Venice to Xanadu, is being developed into a Warner Bros. feature film starring Matt Damon. His previous work, Over the Edge of the World: Magellan’s Terrifying Circumnavigation of the Globe, published in 2003, was a New York Times “Notable Book” for 2003, and is also in development as a motion picture. A frequent lecturer at major universities and symposiums, he also serves as a featured historian for The History Channel. Free for members, $5 for non-members.
