Newport News is about an hour from Richmond and Virginia Beach; less than 30 minutes from Norfolk, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Smithfield and Gloucester; and minutes from Hampton and Yorktown.  Travel by car as I-64 runs the length of our city and connects with I-664 and Routes 143, 60 and 17.

Our location in Hampton Roads makes it easy to reach Newport News from anywhere in Virginia. The major commercial airlines and connections that arrive daily at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport make Newport News easily accessible by air. In addition, Norfolk International Airport is approximately 30 minutes from Newport News. Traveling by rail is one of the many easy methods of reaching Newport News as well. Amtrak makes connections from Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Richmond and from major southern cities via Richmond.

Another popular method of travel is the Greyhound bus system, which offers nationwide service, just minutes away in our neighboring cities of Hampton and Williamsburg. You can also get around by taxi cab, limousine or Hampton Roads Transit. Whether you take the scenic route, use one of the region's famous bridge-tunnel systems or the interstate highway network, reach us by plane or train, you'll find us "right in the middle of everything."
