Smart Smiles at the Dentist provides dental education and care for Boys & Girls Clubs members who may otherwise not have access to such opportunities.  Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula (BGCVP) ensures that all members, regardless of their families’ ability to pay have access to the dental care they need.  BGCVP staff members schedule the appointments, provide transportation by picking the members up from school and dropping them back off, sitting with the children during the appointments, and relaying necessary information back to the parents.  This is a benefit to parents who struggle with the challenge of leaving work to take children to appointments.  The Club members also have pain and insecurities relieved allowing them to remain focused on what’s important- their success. Race time is 8 a.m., but registration begins at 7 a.m.
