Let's celebrate TRAVEL and TOURISM !

May 7-13 was National Travel and Tourism Week, a time to highlight the value travel holds for our economy, businesses, and personal well-being. To commemorate this national initiative, Newport News Tourism is celebrating all month long with variety of events and a community-wide contest that highlights breakthrough experiences in the city.

On Wednesday, May 10, Newport News Tourism hosted a luncheon to recognize our hospitality partners. Maddie Spielberger from Second Street American Bistro was selected as the Gregory Cherry Tourism Professional of the Year and our friends at Coastal Fermentory were awarded with our first ever Breakthrough Experiences award. Thank you to all of our luncheon and prize sponsors for contributing to this year's National Travel and Tourism Week!
