The Mariners’ Park Café / Open to the Public

 

Visit the Museum on Friday afternoon to enjoy lunch in the Mariners’ Park Café while engaging in lively and informative Civil War discussions with renowned historian, John Quarstein. There is no charge to participate. Lunch will be available for purchase at the café!

 

Ambrose Powell “A.P.” Hill was born in Culpeper, Virginia, and graduated from West Point with the class of 1847. After limited service in the Mexican and Seminole wars, Hill resigned from the US Army in 1861, and joined the Confederate cause. He eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant general as a corps commander. General Hill was killed at Petersburg, Virginia, on April 2, 1865.
