By participating in the contest, money will also be raised for LINK of Hampton Roads to help families and individuals in the community. City Center at Oyster Point at 701 Town Center Drive is celebrating Mother’s Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, with a special event called, “A Touch of Spring.” Taking place along Mariners Row, across from the Market Stage, patrons can stroll through the center and enjoy a variety of vendors while listening to live music with the Joe Gosman Band. The first 250 women will receive a free flowering plant – a gift that will keep growing! Kids’ activities include face painting, balloon twisters, and crafts.
Cove Tavern at 711 Town Center Drive in City Center at Oyster Point is highly recommending reservations for their Mother’s Day Brunch, which they say will fill up fast! Second Street Bistro at 115 Arthur Way is offering a special menu this Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8. Enjoy a delicious brunch strata – a layered dish – consisting of Chesapeake blue crab, arugula, asparagus, and parmesan cheese and served with a melon mint salad for $17.90. They are also offering citrus- and herb-seared striped bass with a spring vegetable medley for $28.90. Sunday Brunch is available from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. (Please note that the restaurant does not take “call-ahead seating” or reservations. They seat customers on a “first-come first-served” basis).
Tradition Brewing Company at 700 Thimble Shoals Blvd. is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch, with a special menu by Saté from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 8. Along with brunch, Tradition will offer four craft-beer cocktails created by its brewer, Abbie. Additionally, Starving Artist Studio will set up some pottery to paint for the family that includes a “make-and-take flower pot” special.
