Celebrating NTTW 2015

We’re keeping the National Travel & Tourism Week (if you hashtag use #NTTW15!) festivities going with a special Open House at the Newport News Visitor Center, Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. During the open house visitors will be able to enjoy a FREE windshield washing to get a clearer view of all Newport News has to see and do!

Visitors will also get a glimpse of some of the city’s most well-known landmarks at the Visitor Center as four 6-foot replicas of sculptures found within the city will be scattered throughout the grounds. The works of art – depicting the Victory Arch, Lion’s Bridge, Time, and Elements – were created by students in Kappa Pi, the honor society of Christopher Newport University’s Art Department.

As an added treat, visitors will be invited to have their photos taken with the “LOVE NN” letters that will be on display at the center.

National Travel & Tourism Week was established and first celebrated in 1984 to champion the power of travel. It is sponsored annually by the U.S. Travel Association, a Washington D.C.-based trade association that represents the common interests and concerns of travel in America.
