"ZOOM In" on Newport News, 2010 Photo Contest!
The Newport News Tourism Development Office is inviting you to “ZOOM In” on Newport News and submit your images to our 2010 Photo Contest. Two grand prizes of $500 cash and two honorable mention prize packages valued at approximately $300 will be awarded.
The theme of this year’s contest is “The Four Seasons of Newport News” and contest dates are May 8, 2010 through October 31, 2010. Photographs taken before May 8, 2010 are also eligible to be entered in the contest. You can submit up to 5 photos in one of two categories: Professional or Non-professional.
Photographs with people are encouraged - we want to see you and your family and friends enjoying our city, but please read the contest rules and guidelines regarding images containing identifiable people and minors. Bonus points will be awarded by the judges if your photos contain people at Newport News attractions, parks and special events, or shopping and dining.
You can submit up to 5 photos in one of two categories: Professional or Non-professional. For the purposes of this competition, professional is deemed to mean anyone who receives income from their photography and/or services. We have kept our criteria intentionally broad, to hopefully encourage you to submit entries that portray Newport News through your eyes.
The contest begins May 8, 2010 and continues through October 31, 2010. Entrants must be at least 18 years or older and a US citizen to enter.
Images can be uploaded electronically (along with a completed entry form), or mailed to the NNTDO as a CD/DVD. Submission guidelines and the NNTDO mailing address can be found in the contest rules and guidelines (links below).
