ExpandDinosaur Prophecy Planetarium Show
May 24, 2014 - September 1, 2014
Explore how dinosaurs lived and died in this educational planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will lead you on a voyage back in time. Recline in one of our 70 padded seats in the full dome Abbitt Planetarium. Everyone knows the tale of the sudden and dramatic death of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. But did you know that numerous species of dinosaurs lived, and disappeared, long before the cataclysmic disaster at the end of the Cretaceous period? Journey with us to four different dinosaur digs around the world as we explore how these amazing creatures died… and lived! Recommended for ages 10 and above.

ExpandDinos Live!
May 24, 2014 - September 1, 2014
A new gang of dinosaurs are coming to town this summer at the Virginia Living Museum in DINOS LIVE! This year, for the first time, the VLM will feature the lifelike creations of Billings Productions, North America's leading producer of animatronic dinosaurs. Tremble at a growling T-Rex, always a favorite with museum visitors and see new dinosaurs making their museum debut.  Watch an Edmontosaurus mother tend her brood. There’s even a nest full of eggs ready to hatch. See Euoplocephalus, built like a military tank and weighing in at 3 tons, and Styracosarus, one of the most spectacular of the horned lizards. The dinosaur that highlights the link between non-avian dinosaurs and birds is the Citipati, whose spectacular head crest is similar to that of a modern cassowary. New this summer will be a tented outdoor dinosaur excavation area. Amateur paleontologists can dig through a mound of fossil-filled sediment and then sift out fossils they can take home.

ExpandAn Evening with John Legend: The All of Me Tour
June 7, 2014, 8 p.m.
John Legend has revealed several personas during his award-winning career. Singer/Songwriter. Musician. Producer. Philanthropist. Entrepreneur. To quote music industry pioneer Quincy Jones, the nine-time Grammy winner is simply “a genius.” Writing about Legend for Time’s 2009 tally of the 100 most influential people, Jones noted, “We’ve seen only the tip of the iceberg. For what he has already achieved in his career, it is going to be fun watching where he goes from here.” The fun begins now. Legend, one of the industry’s most innovative artists, returns after five years with his much-anticipated fourth solo album, Love in the Future (G.O.O.D/Columbia). Taking R&B/soul to the next level, Legend creates an immersive experience about romance, love, hope, commitment and optimism. Enhancing the experience: a rich, melodic soundscape–accented by compelling interludes–that fully integrates the musician’s gospel and pop influences, classical training and unerring hip-hop/soul sensibilities.
