| The Newport News Tourism Development Office (NNTDO) is a division of Parks and Recreation. We are employees of the City of Newport News. The NNTDO is located at Fountain Plaza Two, 700 Town Center Drive, Suite 320, Newport News, VA 23606.
The Newport News Visitor Center (NNVC) is sanctioned by the Virginia Tourism Corporation, which is Virginia’s state travel office and is a division of the NNTDO. The NNVC is located at 13560 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23603.
The NNTDO and the NNVC are funded by the City of Newport News as a direct result of room taxes generated by the Newport News hotels/motels and through general funds. The NNTDO receives approximately .46% of the total room tax revenue collected by the City and approximately $162,000 from the City’s General Fund. This totals roughly 1.5 million a year for tourism promotion. |
